Search, Ponder and Pray

I was photographing the Nauvoo Temple one early morning and didn't even notice this young woman who had been sitting there alone for some time. I watched for more than half-an-hour as she would look up at the temple then bow her head in humble prayer, then open her scriptures, then look up at the temple. It was a sacred series of moments for me to quietly observe from a distance. The sun would rise about forty minutes after this photo was taken.
