We called …You Replied
by Kelly L. Martinez

The types of comments sent in response to our call for help in compiling a comprehensive list of LDS athletes and coaches were quite interesting. Some were critical; some were less-than-willing to lend a helping hand; some loved the idea and were grateful such a list is being compiled. In spite of the varied reactions, many of you answered our call (A Call for Help) and we thank you. What was then a meager list of 38 LDS collegiate, amateur and professional athletes and coaches has blossomed into a directory of nearly 200! We hope you will continue to bring others that have been overlooked to our attention. The decision has been made not to include junior college athletes and coaches.

Attempts have been made to include athletes from the Utah schools but nothing official has been offered yet. One of the Utah schools informed me that there may be legal issues involved in their helping to compile such a list. So, we may need to go by word of mouth on the Utah schools.

We’re certain the list will continue to grow, but for now, we’re off to a good start.
