Big Love Makers Apologize to Mormons
Apologies are cheap when they are not followed by an intent to right a wrong. The first paragraph of this article says: “The makers of television polygamy drama “Big Love” apologized for any offense to Mormons in a depiction of a sacred ritual but made clear it would air the controversial episode as planned.” This is not an apology, but a public relations move, an entertainment ploy to have your cake and eat it, too. In apologizing, they are attempting to look good, even sensitive; in reality they exhibit no regret for attempting to hijack and expose something sacred or they would not barrel forward with their plans to air.
