Cameras Roll on HaleStorm’s Singles 2nd Ward

PROVO, Utah — Cameras have been rolling on HaleStorm Entertainment’s Singles 2nd Ward, the follow-up to 2002’s hugely-successful film about dating in a Utah LDS singles ward.

Singles Ward was such a great experience for all of us,” said writer and director Kurt Hale. “People have been asking since the first film when we’ll be doing another Singles Ward. The script has been lying around for three years. It seemed like the right time to bring everyone back together. We got them all. It should be pretty fun.”

HaleStorm, which produced such hits as the original Singles Ward, The RM, and Church Ball, has been sitting quietly for the last several months waiting to make another appearance on the LDS film scene.

“We kinda got tracked into the mode of building up our studio,” said owner and producer Dave Hunter. “Over the last two yours we built one of the best soundstages and music recording facilities in the state. It’s going to be fun to get back on set though.”

Single 2nd Ward continues where the first left off. Dalen (Kirby Heyborne), recently returned from his mission to Boise, Idaho, falls in love with a recent convert to the LDS Church, Christine (Erin Chambers). As a wedding date approaches, both sets of parents offer nothing but grief and, in the midst of the engagement, Dalen relies on his old friends from his pre-mission singles ward for their support and advice.

Singles 2nd Ward has been filming at various Utah County locations for two weeks and is expected to premiere in the fall of 2007.
