Drew Boushka Explores
Love through Music
By Bethany Tredway
Drew Boushka is destined to be a great vocalist in and out of the LDS community. With a style that bridges the gap between contemporary Christian music and classical aria, his voice and his songs have wide appeal to youth and adults alike.
He debuted his musical talent at the age of 11 in front of several hundred people who were congregated for a church service. Beautiful clear tone and dead-on pitch accuracy made him the subject of many a conversation thereafter.
As he progressed through formal training during his high school tenure, he became a local legend among choir students, their directors, and members of the audiences for which he performed. Drew has a rich vocal quality and the sincerity to his presentation.
Drew’s first CD explores variations on the universal theme of love — romantic love, the love between friends, the love of God, and the tragedy associated with the loss of love. Listeners will relate to each sentiment in the lyrics based upon their personal experiences and an added measure of understanding will be conveyed by the beautiful melodies.
It is hard to imagine that someone so inexperienced in life can adequately express such an array of emotions, but Drew has demonstrated maturity beyond his years. The pervasive culture of immodesty and immorality in our nation needs voices like Drew’s to interrupt and reclaim the idea that “love can last forever and not end.”
This kind of music has a wonderful way of distilling hope upon one’s soul that tomorrow will be better than today.
Drew Boushka has been blessed with a remarkable gift. He is one of the lucky few who have their niche in the world carved out before they are licensed to drive (which he has only been doing for a few months). The marriage of Drew’s gorgeous voice with these beautiful songs will soften hearts and change lives. Let yours be among the first.
